WHAT DOES JHROP DO?

JHROP does EVERYTHING, so you don’t have to do ANYTHING. Every item processed through JHROP goes through our multi-point authentication system. It is then photographed in our professional photography studio. Items are stored in our 24-hour temperature and humitity controlled ware- house. Along with our comprehensive research into market pricing, detailed product listings with accurate product measurements and our in-depth detailed condition review, there is literally nothing left for you to do. Just sit tight and wait for a ka-ching.

* How does JHROP deal with counterfeit foods, if found?
If JHROP determines that an item is counterfeit, JHROP will notify the consignor that it has made such a determination and the consignor will have an opportunity to provide proof of pur- chase/other proof of authenticity. Should an item be deemed inauthentic, or the authenticity cannot be conclusively determined, consignor will be charged a penalty of HK$320(~US$40) per counterfeit item on the next scheduled invoice to cover authentication expense incurred. JHROP does not handle counterfeit goods, any item JHROP finally determines to be counterfeit will not be returned to you and the item will be destroyed.

We professionally style, photograph, and retouches 12 HD images. JHROP pro- vides the most accurate descriptions via thorough research, meticulous condition checks, un- complicated international size conversions and accurate hand-measured product measurements for every item.

Our consignors look to us for our expertise in pricing. We earn more when you do, so you can always trust that we always price items at the highest market value. We use a proprietary algorithm to set prices according to designer, style and references, item type, item size, seasonality, condition and current market demand. Our pricing specialists will also check according to past sold records online and against similar live listings.

Our stylists, copywriter and Quality Control team will each make their re- marks on the condition of the item, such that the item goes through at least 3 detailed inspec- tions. This ensures an item’s condition report to be the most accurate to potential buyers. A thorough and honest condition report takes the worry out of purchasing pre-owned items online and significantly lowers chances of returns.

Runway images on the cover image increase prices significantly. With 15+ years of fashion study and retail experience, our team knows designer collections inside and out. Our team will check whether your item was featured on the runway, in magazines or worn by any celebrities. Recent runway pieces have proven to retain it’s value the best, and having a runway or celebrity images can increase selling prices significantly.  From Kate Middleton to Kanye West- any key styles worn by them would almost double or triple it's resell value.

We store everything in our 24-hour air-conditioned, temperature and humidity con- trolled warehouses. Items need to be kept in their optimal environment to ensure they can be sold in their best condition for the best price.

We attend to customer enquiries from all selling platforms within 12 hours. Our staff works around the clock attending to clients from all around the world. As we have been in this industry for more than a decade, we also have a deep list of private clients which we sell to in addition to the plethora of platforms each item is listed on.

Once a deal closes, we re-authenticate every item before it gets carefully packed and shipped! When you consign with JHROP- we do all the work for you!

You most certainly can! And if you haven't, you probably should! What we do isn't rocket science. But we definitely take a lot of work off of you. Selling is a full time job, and we've made that our full time job!

My item was not accepted, what should I do?

Sent us everything but not everything was accepted for consignment ? Any items that are not on our Designer Directory, not suitable, or in unsellable condition will be sent back to you at our expense.

HOW DO YOU SET THE SELLING PRICE?

Our Consignors look to us for our expertise in the secondary resale market.
- Most obvious factor would be the brand, style, size, age and condition of an item.
- Market scarcity: we check against similar live listings and sold records .
- General resale value of a brand: brand exclusivity plays an important factor that determines a brand’s resale value. We consider whether a brand host end-of-season sales, if they have out- lets and/or if the brand is available on off-season retailers (Yoox, The Outnet).
- We will check if something is vintage, featured on runway/magazines and/or worn by any in- ternational celebrities.
- Other external factor will be the brand image, search impressions, seasonal trends, and cur- rent market demand.

No. We will send a suggested selling price on the final PDF, but this is for reference only. The final selling price is marked at our final discretion based on extensive market research and our expertise in the secondary market

Yes, but it is not recommended. We are prepared to set a Minimum Price on exclusive items on individual basis only. We will sell an item with a Minimum Price for 180 days (6 months) only. If an item with a Minimum Price remains unsold after 180 days(6 months) of consignment, the item will be returned to the Consignor. The Consignor will be charged HK$780(~US$100.00) or have the funds deducted from their balance for every unsold returned item.

Yes. All items are posted on at least 4 major marketplaces and up to 10. If an item does not sell after 90 days on any marketplace, we will re-evaluate. Most often, it means the item is overpriced or the style does not have a current market appeal. If an item does not sell after 90 days, we will make price revisions when market conditions are optimal. JHROP will run pro- motions and offer discounts at its sole discretion and without prior notice to consignor to efficiently market and sell an item.

When do i get paid?

Once an item is sold, payment will be made after 60 days (2 months).
Payment takes 60 days as it generally takes 7-14 days for a buyer to receive an order. Once a buyer receives their order, the buyer has a 30 day return window as per most platform policies. All items are tagged with a security tag to prevent wardrobing – a form of return fraud where an item is purchased, used, and then returned to store for a refund. This allows 14 days for us to do necessary paperwork and sort out payment to you.

How do i get paid?

We pay by Direct Deposit only. Payments are made every calendar month or accumulated if re- quested.

What is the consignment period?

The Consignment Period for each item begins on the date JHROP accepts the item for consignment and ends 545 days (1.5 years) thereafter.
If merchandise remains unsold after 545 days (1.5 years), JHROP will return all unsold merchan- dise to you free of charge. Should client elect to not have items returned-unsold merchandise to be donated to our charity partner- Redress.

CAN I RECALL AN ITEM I CONSIGNED?

Yes, you may recall consigned items at any time. If the Return Request is made within 365 days (1 year), consignor will be charged HK$465(~US$60) per item and the cost of return shipping. This fee is to cover for costs of labour, storage, cataloguing, and photography in preparation for sale and removal of all listing. JHROP will return the item within 14 days. You will be invoiced for such costs and/or costs shall be deducted from your pending Payout balance. If you do not have enough pending Payout balance available to cover the costs of Recall, Jhrop shall have no obligation to return the item to you until you settle all costs prior to ship- ment.
After 365 days, you may recall any item free of charge, you will still be responsible for the cost of return shipping.
